Creating
a file using the vi
editor:
In order
to search and replace text, use the following options:

Type
vi filename
to create the file.
- Type i
to insert text
- Press the
Escape key to go to command
mode.
- Type :wq
to write the file and exit vi
If you are not
sure what mode you are in, use the escape key, which always puts
you in command mode.
Tip:
If you press the escape key while you are in the command mode, the
workstation will beep to remind you that you are already in command
mode.
