Icon Bar
Additional buttons that can be placed next to the desktop buttons; for example,
shortcuts to your home directory, to your trashcan, to the kvt terminal emulator
and to the documents you use often.
Iconify
A term used to describe the process of reducing the size of the window to an
icon, when iconified a window takes up no desktop space.
Initialization Files
Executes a series of commands when the shell is started. These files customize
the enviornment for the system and the user.
Input/Output
Abbreviated I/O, this term is used to describe the transfer of data between
the computer and its peripherals.
Interface
The point in a computer where two different subsystems are connected. An example
would be a com port where a mouse can be connected to the system.
Internet
The worlds largest computer network, this is designed to allow people anywhere
in the world to transfer data to each other.
