Variable
A variable is a place holder for information in memory. Information such as
which printer is the default printer or the path name to a specific directory
can be set up as variables.
Veronica
A Gopher serach utility used to condense multiple Gopher resources into a single
Gopher menu.
Virtual Memory
A memory management technique used by many computer system to increase available
memory. This is done by moving information from RAM to hard disk when more memory
is required by an application. When the information that was moved to disk is
needed again it is moved back into RAM.
Virus
A program that is intended to damage you computer. These programs can be detected
and removed with virus checking software.
Volatile Memory
Any memory in the computer that loses its' contents when power to the system
is lost.
